An individual named Marcus Frind is a genius. He created the site PlentyofFish.com aka POF and sold it to a major dating conglomerate for $575 million. However, that doesn’t mean that it works great. It just means that POF.com is worth a lot of money. Anyway, I already digress, let me get back to things here. Plenty of Fish is by far, not the worst dating site I’ve ever been to, but it certainly was not what I thought it would be.
The site is wildly popular and you hear about it everywhere, so I expected to get great results. Well, I got results, but it wasn’t the results I was looking for. The site is a little confusing and not very user-friendly to navigate. There are real women on the site which are a lot more than I can say for many of the horrible dating sites I review. You can also message women for free which is rare. Sadly, there are so many problems on the site that you can’t really get anywhere. Women either ignore you or your profile gets deleted while you’re trying to talk to them.
I read several customer testimonials and it seems to be a pattern that the site routinely deletes profiles of male users, even if they pay. I also read that, when the profiles are deleted and the men try to recover their money, PlentyofFish disputes the refund. Typical play for a dating site that under delivers and pushes users around that had negative experiences. Check out my personal review and you will see why I didn’t find great. Despite having free features and real women, it’s not the “king of hookup” dating that it paints itself to be.
PlentyofFish.com Review And Everything I Learned As A Member
PlentyofFish.com has a reputation for having a lot of users, but I found out that there aren’t a lot of them who are satisfied with their experience, including me. I went through long periods of time where I didn’t talk to a girl at all and when you finally find one, you must be careful or you will be locked out of the site. Any time you try to communicate with a girl, your account is deleted when you try to hook up. It happens instantly, so my guess is, they have automatic filters that lock you out when you try to violate the site’s rules and it’s a little too easy to trigger them.
Most of the women on the site ignore you when you message them. Either that or they are not active profiles. My guess is, they keep the female profiles up, even after the ladies cancel their account so you will think that they are real profiles populating the site. Also, the same women seem to keep popping up even when you indicate that you are not interested in them. One rather annoying problem on the site is that your membership fee is set up as a recurring charge and is taken out of your account automatically. If the money does come out; they have a no refund policy and you are stuck with that charge.
My Experience
Needless to say, I did not have a good experience at PlentyofFish.com. Throughout my time on the site; no matter how much I tried to narrow down my search, I kept getting matches that did not have the characteristics that I indicated. It seemed to be all over the place. I was using the free features and my account was hacked within my first week as a member. Then I tried getting help and there was no customer service.
After that, I tried to create another account and I was not allowed to log in with the same e-mail. That did not work. So, I used another e-mail address to create a new account and paid for a premium membership to see if it was better. I was then hacked within 2 weeks of creating this new account. I left with a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be going back.
Features Of POF
PlentyofFish.com has a mobile app you can download and is available in Brazil, France, Spain, Germany and the U.S. There is a feature on the site called the “Chemistry Test” which would be pretty cool if it actually worked. It’s a feature that is supposed to find you compatible dates by analyzing your answers to a series of questions and matching them with potential dates on the site. This never worked for me because all the results seemed random. The only feature I found especially useful was the “Your Relationship Needs” feature where you can get tips on relationships and learn where you went wrong in the past, so you won’t repeat the same mistakes. Sadly, there is not a good chance you will find a date on the site to use these tips on. It’s a popular site with real women, but it’s kind of a mess.
Conclusion: Plentyoffish.com Doesn’t Work As Well As I Hoped It Would
I was really hoping to meet some milfs using this site. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen at all. It’s not impossible to find a date on PlentyofFish.com, but they certainly don’t make it easy. It looks to me like the site is not equipped to handle such a high number of users. There are too many inactive profiles and the profiles of male users are routinely deleted, even if they have paid for a membership. Try it for free if you must, but good experiences seem to be rare. You’ve been warned.
