JDate is a specialty dating site that is exclusively for the Jewish community. I usually like to see sites that cater to a specific group of people. They narrow down the dating pool for you to fit your specific religion, interests or fetish. Some sites, on the other hand, exploit people’s need to find a certain type of date. They use it for their own gain. That’s exactly what JDate does. Read my full review below for more details.
I Investigated JDate, Here’s My Complete Review
If you have ever heard of the massive online dating site network Spark Networks, then you know that the sites on the network cannot be trusted. Well, JDate.com is part of that network along with ChristianMingle, Blacksingles.com and other sites. They have excellent marketing, so they do gain some popularity. That does not mean that they will get you a date. If you do find a date, it’s despite their practices, not because of them. All the sites on the network use the same strategy of creating fake profiles to make their site look bigger and more impressive than it is. They also take your profile pics and info to create other profiles to fool people and the cycle continues.
It’s a shame that a site like this that seems to be so pure in their intent would be mostly a fraud. They do make it a nice place to visit. However, the fun stops when you actually try to interact with someone in hopes that they are real. No matter how good a site looks or how popular it is: you should always check their terms and conditions. Just a little light reading before you enter a dating site can save you a lot of hassle in the long run. This is where they use clever wording to tell you about creating fake profiles and reusing yours. When you see things like this isn’t the terms on a site, it’s best to avoid it.
Messaging on JDate
Okay, I’ll admit. I’m not Jewish, but I did pretty good acting like I was. I knew something was up when I had barely started filling in my profile info. I started getting messages and chat requests. A lot of them. This is always a good indication that a site is sending you automated messages. They do this when you sign up for a free account so you will be tempted to pay for a membership so you can respond to these women. You pay for the expensive membership fees and you never hear from these women again. It’s not because they are no longer interested. It’s because they were never real women. They are just an automatic response to you logging in.
The Phone Calls
It would have been fun to talk to a nice Jewish girl on the phone, but I was not able to get that far. None of the messages that I received turned out to be genuine. I have tried other sites on the Spark network and they are all the same. You go through a lot of hassle and get your hopes up because of the tactics they use to fool you and end up with a bunch of frustrating and mechanical messages.
I did not receive any genuine instant messages or e-mails and I certainly didn’t receive any numbers so I could call a girl on the phone. Meeting a Jewish girl in person seemed like a fun thing to do but I didn’t even get close to doing that at JDate.
What happens when you want to cancel?
Don’t forget that your account at JDate.com will renew itself and charge you every month or after your alarm. To cancel auto-renewal, click on Membership Management tab in the drop down menu of your profile. Click on Cancel Subscription. Just follow the on-screen instructions after that. Just remember that they still hold on to your profile and info when you cancel.
I want to provide the company info just in case you need to contact them for any reason. The company address is 11150 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 600, Los Angeles, CA 90025. They have a page on the site for people that wish to contact them. Here is the link to their contact us page on the site.
Conclusion: JDate Is Not A Good Site To Join
I believe that, because of the size and popularity of JDate, there is a slight chance that you could find a real Jewish girl to interact with. I also believe that, in order to do that, you would have to spend an arm and a leg and go through the hassle of sorting through fake profiles and messages to do so. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the time and money for that. There are much better dating sites out there that don’t need to fool you.
Do Jewish people use other casual dating sites?
That’s a silly question. Of course, they definitely use casual dating sites. If a Jewish person needs to find someone to bang, I guarantee they are joining a site listed below.
