If I had to use one word to describe FlirtLocal.com (besides fake) it would be generic. There are some dating and hookup sites that are frauds, but at least they try to pull you in with an impressive layout. You don’t even get that on this site. It’s kind of ugly and it functions about like it looks. I didn’t have to look very close to realize that it was a complete fraud but I looked into it anyway for the sake of this review. My suspicions were confirmed every step of the way and I did not have a good experience. Check out my detailed review and a description of what it was like to Flirt Local and you will see why this is one of many sites that you should not even waste your time on.
Review
FlirtLocal.com insults the intelligence of everyone who visits the site and I honestly can’t believe that some people are still falling for such an elementary fraud. I guess some people look at it and think that it is so generic that it must be real, but it certainly is not. I found the first bit of evidence before I even typed my e-mail address into the site. Just above the Get Started button, there is a paragraph that lets you know that the site is fake like Christian Mingle. It tells you that you will receive communications from computer generated virtual profiles targeted to you and your interests. Why would I want to use a dating site that admits to having fake profiles on their main page? This gives them an opening to fill the site with them. At the time of this review, the site claimed to have over a million active members and, after trying it for myself, I would bet that most of those profiles are computer generated.
Check out my experience below and you will see that this is just another typical fraud that is out to get your money and is not designed to hook you up with anyone.
My Experience
I had zero expectations going in, but I still gave Flirt Local a fair chance. I filled out my profile thoroughly and was not surprised at all when I started getting messages and chat requests from beautiful girls in my area. I highly doubt that girls this hot would be throwing themselves at me within minutes of visiting the site, but I continued. I paid the monthly membership charge and noticed that some of the messages looked fairly convincing. This turned out to be the only thing convincing on the site. I responded to these women and they had suddenly lost interest which is typical. I made a concentrated effort to message multiple women and got almost all computer-generated responses except for one. I was excited to talk to a real girl at first, but that excitement subsided when she would lead me on and stall for days at a time. Suddenly, at the end of my billing cycle, she started getting flirty again. It was obviously an employee from the site, so I didn’t bother to allow my membership to renew.
Features
The features on Flirt Local are the very definition of bare bones. The search is very basic. The only features really worth mentioning are the ability to rate women’s profiles on the site and live cams. The live cams are not really an incentive to join because you have to pay extra to watch them. If I want to watch live cams, I think I’ll go to a live cam site and get more of a selection for my money. Not some fake dating site.
Cost
Don’t let the tired old claim of 100% free fool you. Flirt Local is not free at all. You can sign up for free and browse a bit, but that’s about all you can do before you are prompted to pay for a membership. The membership price is actually pretty standard for a dating site at $29.95 a month. You can save a little money by purchasing a 3 month membership at $59.94 or a 6 month membership for $119.88. Be careful because your membership is automatically renewed at the end of your billing cycle and you are charged the same amount as you initially paid automatically and continues until you cancel.
The Bottom Line
FlirtLocal.com has no imagination and no real women to interact with. It’s an ugly site, it’s not fun to use and they bombard you with computer generated messages and fill the site with bogus profiles trying to make you think it’s a real service. Please read the fine print carefully when you visit a dating site, especially when there is money involved. Money is the only thing that matters to this site.
