Chemistry.com Complaints: Experience Reveals Everything Wrong With This Website!

If you have chemistry with someone then you want to have sex with them. That’s how it usually works. Well, good news is, there’s an app for that! No, but seriously, I came across this dating service the other day after a co-worker suggested I check it out. The only reason I did was due to the fact that they said they got laid using it. Now I’m going to share everything I know about the site.

Chemistry is a dating website with a pretty brandable name, but the questions is simple, does it get you laid? It is supposed to help you find a dating partner based on a series of questions that take a few minutes to answer. Nothing too earth shattering. It would be a good tool to match you with like-minded singles, but sadly it’s just a time waster. I don’t think they plan on using your personality questions at all. I used the site and put forth a real effort to find a compatible match and all I got were a bunch of tire kickers and similar results seen on dozens of other sites. They put up a good front, but the results are just not there for the win. Read my review and form your own opinion of the Chemistry dating site.

Overview of Chemistry As A Member [Unedited]

The first thing you should know is that this site is owned by Match.com which has been known to scam their users. Chemistry is just one of their many affiliated sites that are used to pull people in with unique features and this one uses the personality test. If you are like most, then you click through the registration process without reading the fine print. That’s where they get you! If you stop to read it before signing in, you will see that they admit to some of the practices which I think are unethical for any dating site.

To put things bluntly, they tell you that, once you create a profile, your info belongs to them. You are basically giving them the right to reuse, repost and repurpose your content any way they see fit. This means that your info will likely be blasted out across many sites in their network. It will be used to entice others members to join their other sites. For a company of this site to pull this crap is beyond me. I can’t seem to understand why they’d do such a thing if they have millions of users already. I will say this, it’s better than that NSA Finder site that I tried out. That was a terrible experience.

Chemistry Site Features

The main feature on the site is the personality test, but I already discussed that. It’s probably just a marketing tool that gives them an edge of some sort. You also get access to Dr. Helen Fisher’s articles, videos, and advice which is nice but not worth the price. When you pay for the service, you will gain access to additional features like multiple feedback options and a “first meeting” tool which is supposed to help you set up a face to face encounter. Not sure I even did anything with those features. All a bunch of extras bullshit that’s not necessary.

Girls On Site

There are a lot of pretty women at Chemistry, but they aren’t necessarily real profiles of real girls on the site you joined. In other words, you don’t even have access to all of the women that you can see. You can’t just go on and find hot girls in your area and message them. You are only allowed to contact the people that the site has matched you with after your personality test. Although it limits what profiles you see on the site, it is a clever feature.  I bet it makes some people think that it’s a legit dating site. Likely all due to their limitation efforts.

Messaging and Profiles

Another thing that Chemistry admits to in their terms of service is sending you computer automated messages. They let you know that many of your communications with people on the site are transactional and relationship communications relating to the service. This means that they are admitting to sending their member’s fake messages to encourage you to use the site more. This shows that the site can’t be trusted because you can’t trust the messaging.

The App

Don’t you think that a dating site that is affiliated with a dating site as huge as Match.com would have a kick ass mobile app? That is not the case with Chemistry. This site is all smoke and mirrors trying to get you to pay their membership fees, but not giving you a real dating experience or even a decent app to use on your phone. I suggest trying a modern dating site with an app and some of them are free. The free ones offer more than this expensive site.

Pricing

Chemistry is just as expensive as it is shady. The monthly membership charge is a steep $49.95 and the only way to save money is purchasing 3 months for $99.95 or 6 months for $159.95. Once you enter your card information, watch your renewal date closely because they will automatically charge you monthly.

Conclusion: Did Not Get Lucky Using Chemistry And You Won’t Either

Chemistry might actually be a good dating site if they would stop copying profiles from other sites. Their personality test is a good idea but it’s not going to give people enough of a reason to join once they find out about their data being taken. The personality types are divided into 4 sections. Explorers, Directors, Negotiators and Builders. This would be a pretty nifty way to match compatible singles. If the site worked for me then I’d endorse it but it didn’t.

When a site spends time generating fake profiles, reusing your pics and information and sending users automated messages it’s just something that I can’t stand behind. You should be careful with this site as well as all dating sites that are affiliated with Match.com. The entire network is there to take your money and very little attention is paid to getting you a date.

Alternative To Chemistry?

There are plenty of alternative sites to use if you don’t fancy Chemistry. It really depends on what you’re dating goals are and what you’re trying to accomplish. See, the fact of the matter is that I can get laid using a handful of websites. You can too. But you must know which sites to use and which work best. If I were you, I’d start with this one right here. If that site doesn’t get you laid then nothing will!
