The world’s most popular affair dating site is having huge problems today! Hackers stole millions of individuals personal information, including financial information. Guess what they did with it yesterday?
Ashley Madison Hackers Post Customer Names
Last month, I reported that Ashley Madison had been hacked and customers personal information was said to be stolen. This was done by hackers that are part of the Impact Team. They’d supposedly hacked the site to teach site owners a lesson after learning about their Full Delete product. Full Delete is said to wipe your personal data from the entire site. The problem was that the Impact Team claimed to have discovered that AshleyMadison was not actually wiping the data and instead they were taking customers money with no service being provided.
After receiving a 30-day warning from the Impact Team to shut down the website, no action was taken to meet their demands. According to sources at CNN Money, the Impact Team hackers decided to publicly release personal information, physical addresses. Personal credit card information was leaked as well.
The hackers claimed to have posted all the data related to the 32 million individuals they had data on. The data has been posted somewhere online where it could not be searched by Google or other search engines. But it’s likely that this data won’t stay private for too much longer.
Ashley Madison is owned by Avid Life Media and the CEO has commented on the action taken by the hackers. Apparently his message and response was not strong enough to keep the Impact Team from releasing the information. On Tuesday, the Impact Team posted the following statement, which has been removed, “We have explained the fraud, deceit, and stupidity of ALM and their members. Now everyone gets to see their data.” Here’s an image of the message that was posted:

What Does This Mean For Online Dating?
You may find yourself thinking, what does this mean for me and other online dating sites? Truthfully, it means nothing really. Most sites, especially the hookup sites that I’ve joined and reviewed are honest, they work and your data is safe and secure. I personally think that Ashley Madison is still a good site if you’re looking to cheat on your wife or have an affair. However, I’m on the prowl for a new affair dating website.
